Where do the jobs in the BECOME.ME student web app come from?
The 52,000+ jobs in the BECOME.ME web app come from authoritative definitions and taxonomies of global careers from Australia and New Zealand, and the United States.
For the BECOME.ME web app we use authoritative data sources to create, update and maintain the over 52,000 jobs listed.
The app combines the occupational definitions of the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) with the US Occupational Information Network O*Net database.
This means any job in the app is a real job that someone in these jurisdictions is doing, and that is reported on in economic activity at some level.
Jobs are presented in groups or clusters. This is a simplified version of the occupation cluster-based taxonomy. It sorts jobs into related categories.
We can extend BECOME to cover emerging, topical and kid-popular occupations.
We also make curated lists of topics we see students searching for, such as Space careers, Sport, Agriculture and more. (See What is a Bridge?)
